How to Host an Out of This World Toy Story Birthday Party

"To infinity and beyond!", if you often hear these words from your child or children, you know exactly what you are about to give them on their birthday parties. Organise yourself a Toy Story themed party and treat your child and friends for some out of this world fun! Here's how you will do it...

Making Your Party Invitations

If your child's favorite character is Buzz Lightyear, make a colorful spaceship-inspired invitation out of a high-quality cardstock. An invitation shaped like a cowboy hat is a perfect match for the cowboy character Woody. If you want to have a general Toy Story party theme, a toy box with the toy characters placed on the top along with a picture of your child is a brilliant idea.

Decorating The Party

Your party decorations must comprise the colors that can be associated with Toy Story, such as lime or neon green, orange, turquoise, and purple. Make sure that your paper streamers and balloons carry these kind of colors. Posting movie posters on your wall helps enhance the Toy Story atmosphere. You may order them online or create your own out of printed photos taken from the scenes in the movie. You may also try putting stuff toys or kiddie action figures all over the place. Character cardboard cutouts are excellent alternatives as well.

Setting-Up The Party Attire

Invite kids to come wearing their favourite Toy Story character along with the toy itself. Allow them to dress up in whatever style they want for as long as it has close resemblance to the favourite toy they got in hand. Announce that it will be a contest to add more interest to the party. Award the best dressed kid or the one with the most realistic outfit with a toy or small prize!

Organising The Party Games And Activities

Set-up a box of toys and a corresponding area for the kids to play. You may organise a game out of it, such as having a car race using the provided toy cars or putting up a puppet show for them to interact with.

Try playing a "Space Treasure Hunt" game. This is recommended when many of the kids are Buzz Lightyear fans. You may organise this game either outside or inside of the party venue. Set up the mood of the children by telling them that they are going on a space mission. Then tell them to find items that Buzz left behind in his past space expedition. These items may compose of candies, paper plates, toys and other good stuff.

The "Balloon Float" is also a great game. Begin by blowing up some balloons with pictures and names of characters pasted over them. Let the kids gather in one area and toss them into the air, what the kids need to do is to prevent the balloons from hitting the ground.

"Robot Freeze Tag" on the other hand is a game played outside. At first, there should be a "robot maker" wherein whoever he/she tags becomes a robot and must freeze. The robots can however be unfreeze when other players touch them. The player who became a robot for 3 times will be the next designated "robot maker".

At the end of the exciting games, excite them once more by showing a Toy Story movie, complete with popcorn and other tasty goodies.

Now armed with the knowledge, your child's upcoming party will never go dull!
